Happy Mother’s Day

After a short but chaotic hiatus, I thought that Mother’s Day would be the perfect opportunity to get back to blogging.

There are so many wonderful things on the horizon, and I can’t wait to update you all on what’s been going on in our lives this past month or so. However, I will save that for another post.

Today is all about celebrating the women in our lives; all the women who guide, inspire and look after those who need it. Whether that woman is your biological mother, adoptive mother, step mother, aunt, grandmother etc.
This is for ALL the mothers out there – the new moms, OG moms and those mothering a tribe. Those that are expecting, waiting or hoping. The moms we’ve lost and the moms who have lost.

Today is your day. Let’s celebrate the experience of motherhood in all its glorious, messy beauty. I hope today brings you some extra sleep and a clean kitchen.

If you had told me 2 years ago that this would be my life, there’s no way I would have believed you. Nothing has left me as contented or kicked my ass quite like this adventure, and nothing else ever will. I could have never even fathomed the struggles I would face, the sleep deprivation, the constant worry, the joy, the fulfillment, the selflessness, the unconditional love. I could never have prepared for the barrage of emotions that go hand in hand with arguably one of the hardest jobs in the world.

I am so thankful for the last (almost) 8 months and the privilege of calling myself Ava’s mom. Watching her grow into such a beautiful, vivacious, funny and downright brilliant child is the most incredible experience. These are the moments I that I know I will long for even as I live them.. I will never need more than this.
